Is Your Truth Actually the Truth? | Ask A Priest

Spirit Juice Podcast Today

Description

Have you ever heard someone say, "That's your truth, not mine"? But can two completely opposite things both be true?

In this episode of Ask A Priest, Father Tim explores the difference between objective truth and subjective truth, and why understanding that distinction matters so much to our Catholic faith. Drawing from the wisdom of St. Thomas Aquinas, he explains that truth isn't simply what we feel or want to believe. Truth is what actually is.

From arguing over which coffee tastes better to debating whether the Chicago Bears are the greatest football team, Father Tim uses everyday examples to show how personal opinions differ from truths that don't change based on who's looking at them.

But the conversation gets much deeper when we ask one question: Does God exist? Is that just a personal belief, or is it something that must be either true or false for everyone?

Because if God is real, then truth isn't something we get to invent. It's something we're called to discover and it changes how we understand ourselves, our faith, and the world around us.

Truth isn't just about what we believe. It's about what's real.
