In this video, I will show you how to build a simple but powerful 50 volt inverter using recycled components from old computer power supplies.

The circuit is designed to operate with an input voltage from 10 volt to 15 volt and can generate a stable 50 volt output. When the input voltage drops below 9.5 volt, the IC will automatically shut down to protect the system. The design also includes a 9 volt regulator section to power the cooling fan for better thermal management.

I reused many parts from old SMPS units, including ferrite transformers, inductors, heatsinks, and filtering capacitors. This is a great way to reduce cost and reuse electronic waste effectively.

The Mosfets used in this project are high current N-channel types such as IRFZ44, IRF3205, and IRF70N80, which provide strong switching performance for inverter applications.

For the 50 volt output stage, I used 63 volt rated capacitors with 4700 microfarad capacitance. You can also use higher voltage and larger capacitance capacitors for better stability.

⚠️ Important note: Always ensure the capacitor voltage rating is higher than the output voltage. Otherwise, the capacitor may fail or even explode due to overvoltage.

This project is simple, efficient, and perfect for learning about inverter design, switching power supplies, and transformer rewinding techniques.
