If you've ever gone to turn and felt like the bike just didn't respond, this video explains why, and it comes down to counter-steering, which I show you how to practice in your own neighborhood. I also cover why so many riders are quick on the horn but slow on the brakes, and why practicing progressive braking matters far more than honking. When a rider goes down, most people run to the bike because that's all they know, but the bike can be replaced and the person can't, so I walk through the mindset of taking care of the rider first: stay calm, make sure the scene is safe, and get them the help they need. I also break down neighborhood riding, why you assume a kid is chasing that ball into the street, how to handle off-road corners by sticking to your side, and how to read road surface hazards like ice. It's all part of the PLAN method: position, locate, assess, navigate.
