Hi everyone! My name is Christy, I am 16. You will not find me in social networks, do not even try. I don’t use Facebook, Instagram, twitter, or anything like that. The reason of that is not because I am rebellious or against social medias. That is because I come from a poor family and I cannot afford to have a cellphone with camera and internet access that allows to use these appliances.
It might be strange to hear such kind of things living in 21st century. However, maybe it is for the better, because my classmates always post new photos of them attending restaurants, night clubs, shops with luxurious and expensive clothes, having trips abroad with their parents. It is much better not to see that – there is enough bullying in my real life.
Once some girls from the back of the class threw a floorcloth at me and offered to put it on giggling. They said that it looked better than the cloths that I was wearing. Unfortunately, they were right. My clothes have so many holes and the spots which are impossible to wash off anymore. Nevertheless, I cannot just throw them away because my parents are not able to buy me new ones. What’s more I will not able to come to school if I don’t have at least these clothes. Usually children like me don’t attend classes at school, but not me! I want to get a proper education in order to find a job and help my parents pay back all the debts they have.
