Welcome to song number 11 of this video series. The last one. "I'll Fly Away" is one of those timeless gospel classics that feels like it’s always been around. It’s a song that Johnny Cash grew up singing while working in the cotton fields, and it’s one of the most hopeful songs in his catalog.
Even though I’m a non-believer and don’t believe in God, this song still holds a special place in my heart. It’s not just about faith—it’s about finding peace and moving on. I guess that’s why it resonates with me so much.
This is the last song of the video series, and I just want to say how forever grateful I am to everyone who has stuck with me all these years. Since becoming a father, I can’t produce as much music as I used to, but seeing that people are still here after all this time means the world to me. I love you all.
I wanted to keep this version simple and honest—just an acoustic live take to preserve that raw, heartfelt feel. To me, it’s a song about finding comfort in the face of hardship, and I felt like closing the series with this one was the right choice.
