ZapperBox makes over-the-air TV tuners and DVRs that let you watch and record free local television broadcasts. There’s no cable or streaming subscription required for those broadcasts, but you do need a suitable TV antenna in addition to a ZapperBox tuner. The product line supports modern ATSC 3.0 NextGen TV as well as conventional ATSC 1.0 broadcasts.
