In House of the Dragon Season 3, Helaena Targaryen will meet her end, as confirmed by none other than George R.R. Martin.
In the House of the Dragon Season 2 finale, we saw Helaena revealing to Aemond Targaryen that she can see visions of the future.
Early in Season 3, after Rhaenyra Targaryen takes King’s Landing with Daemon Targaryen and their dragons, Helaena is captured by Queen Rhaenyra. Later in Season 3, Helaena jumps from the window of her room in Maegor's Holdfast. She dies immediately on the spikes below, with her throat impaled, at only twenty-one years old. At the moment of Helaena's death, her dragon Dreamfyre suddenly rises, snaps two of her chains, and roars loud enough to shake the Dragonpit.
All of this is going to happen at the beginning of Season 3 of the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon. Later, false rumors will spread across King’s Landing that Rhaenyra ordered Helaena’s death and that she was pushed on her orders. This then causes huge riots and leads to a mob attacking and overwhelming the Dragonpit, where many Targaryen dragons reside, resulting in the deaths of several dragons. It also leads to the mob overthrowing Rhaenyra from the Iron Throne. Besides the Iron Throne, Rhaenyra will also lose her dragon Syrax and her son Joffrey Velaryon.
Long story short, George R.R. Martin confirmed Helaena will die in House of the Dragon Season 3, which Larys Strong uses to his advantage by spreading rumors that Rhaenyra was responsible for her death. He hopes the smallfolk will overthrow Rhaenyra so he can bring King Aegon Targaryen back to the Iron Throne—all of which happens.
