This Game of Thrones prequel series is set about eighty years after House of the Dragon and ninety years before Game of Thrones. It’s based on The Tales of Dunk and Egg, a series of fantasy novellas by George R. R. Martin set in the world of his A Song of Ice and Fire novels.
The story follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg, who is secretly Aegon V Targaryen. Season 1 will be packed with Targaryens: viewers are going to love Egg’s uncle and heir to the Iron Throne, Prince Baelor “Breakspear” Targaryen, and hate his cruel brother Aerion Targaryen. Aegon “Egg” Targaryen is Maester Aemon’s brother and Daenerys Targaryen’s great-grandfather.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1 Episode 1 will open with Ser Arlan’s death. Dunk buries him and travels to the tourney at Ashford. On the way there, he meets Daeron Targaryen and Aegon “Egg” Targaryen. At first Dunk refuses to take Egg on as his squire, but later changes his mind.
