A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms series will introduce many new Targaryens, one of them being Maekar Targaryen. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will feature the most Targaryens any Game of Thrones prequel series has ever featured, even more than House of the Dragon, but there are no dragons. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is based on George R.R. Martin’s The Tales of Dunk and Egg. One of the Targaryens we will see in this new Game of Thrones series is Maekar Targaryen, the fourth son of a king who unexpectedly becomes the king. Being a fourth son, he took for his personal sigil the Targaryen dragon quartered. He wed Dyanna of House Dayne, with whom he has four sons: Daeron, Aerion, Aemon, and Aegon. Maekar fought against Daemon Blackfyre in the Blackfyre Rebellion. He and his brother Baelor are famed for the "hammer and anvil" tactic they used to win the Battle of the Redgrass Field. In season 1 of the Game of Thrones prequel series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Maekar will fight his own brother Baelor in a trial by combat and will end up killing him. The best decision he makes is letting his son, Prince Aegon Egg Targaryen (who later becomes king), travel across Westeros and squire for Duncan the Tall. Enjoy this video about Maekar Targaryen.
