For Barbara, volunteering at Oxfam Lochee in Dundee is about more than giving time, it’s about feeling a sense of hope and purpose.
She's volunteered with Oxfam for 17 years, continuing a family legacy that began when her mum helped establish Oxfam Dundee in the 1960s. Her mum carried on volunteering into her 90s, always believing that helping others is what gives life true meaning.
Today, Barbara proudly carries that spirit forward. Whether she’s taking on fundraising walks, running the shop or supporting her fellow volunteers, she’s making a difference, helping raise funds for communities facing poverty around the world while finding purpose in it every day.
As her mother so simply put it: “Fulfill your life, and you're doing good with your life.”
