My lemon tree resurrected last episode, but an old problem persists: yellow spots develop on new leaves which eventually leads to full blown deformity and yellowing, like some kind of fungal rot. I am not fertilizing or watering much in this pot since the shoot system is still small; my efforts are focused on the eradication of fungal disease, spider mites, bird poop caterpillars, and other pests. I will continue to experiment with different fungicides until I stop seeing signs of disease. This plant will perish without regular pesticide and fungicide treatments. Some people do soap water sprays, but I do not agree with the chemistry behind that common method, which can remove the waxy cuticle of the leaves and also result in detergents seeping into the stomata. Farmers use synthetic fungicides and pesticides as the most surefire, scientifically tested ways to ensure and save their crops.
