Opis

Deutsches Eck (German Corner) is the name of a point in Koblenz town where two famous rivers of Germany namely river Mosel (Moselle) joins river Rhine. At the confluence of both rivers, there is a 37-meter-tall equestrian statue of great German Emperor William I (1861-88) on horseback, erected in 1897 in honor of his efforts for reunification of Germany. The statue was destroyed in 1944 during WWII. After the War, the stone pedestal remained empty for almost 50 years until reunification of West and East Germany when statue was reconstructed in 1993.
