Fleetwood Mac - Jewel Eyed Judy

Does this song sound like it could have been released at the height of the 90's alternative era and fit right in there? This sound is literally decades ahead of its time. This is a sound that Fleetwood Mac is not usually known for.

One of the many deep tracks and lost classics in the expansive and all impressive Fleetwood Mac catalog. This track is on their underrated 1970 album "Kiln House." A lot of people talk about FM's 1st great guitarist Peter Green. While Green deserves a ton of credit, Danny Kirwan - who is front and center on this song - is the one who always goes under the radar.

I challenge anyone to try to find another song from around 1970 that sounds anything like "Jewel Eyed Judy." This pretty much set the formula for what every 90's alternative song would try to sound like 30 years later. The fact that FM had 'been there' and 'done that' 30 years prior is a major testatment to just how legendary and diverse this band really is. 30 years after this song was released, an entire subgenre of Rock came out which borrowed heavily from the elements and structure of this song - starting slow and mellow, and then once the chorus arrives turning everything up to '11.' Just incredible. Mick Fleetwood is also a very underrated drummer and was and still is the backbone of this group.

If you have not seen Fleetwood Mac perform a live concert yet MAKE SURE to get yourself some tickets the next time they roll into a city near you! You are in for a serious treat. One of the greatest live acts of all-time no question.
