This is the first in a series of shorter video essays I intend to do covering flash games. Flash games are an interesting medium due to their short play-time and general lack of industry support. They were made by small dev teams in a short amount of time and were early examples of art created via the "attention economy."
Doodle God is one of the more notable flash games because of its novel concept, condensing the scope of all of the earth's history to a short, simple "mix and match" puzzle game. In this video, I critique Doodle God, assessing its ideas and execution and how it fits into the pantheon of the broader Flash Game era.
