Do The 5 Statues of Nemrut Contain an Ancient Code that Unlocks Something? | LCP #8

Matthew LaCroix Podcast 2 days ago

Description

On the summit of Mount Nemrut in Türkiye, five colossal seated figures sit on an artificial mountain cone, flanked by a lion and an eagle, and the early archaeologists who studied the site reported no clear ancient quarrying tool marks. Mainstream history credits the Kingdom of Commagene, around 2,100 years ago. Matt LaCroix sees a different story in the mismatched heads and bodies, the guardian figures carved from a separate stone, and terraces that face the winter and summer solstices yet sit 0.6 and 5.1 degrees off alignment. In his reading, the Commagene inherited a far older monument, and the offset points to builders working during the Pleistocene, before the upheavals of the Younger Dryas.

From there Matt follows the lion and the eagle across the ancient world, interpreting the lion as guardian of the underworld and the eagle as guardian of the celestial realm, from the Sphinx at Giza to the gateways of Hattusa. Returning to the Kef relief from the Lake Van region, he shows Haldi passing a cup toward one of five T symbols, which he connects to the five classical elements with ether, or quintessence, at the centre. That thread runs through the giant pinecone at the Vatican, the Emerald Tablet and the Hermetic teaching of life and light, before Matt brings it home to the altar at Ayanis and his view that Mount Nemrut, like the five towers of Angkor Wat, is a model of creation itself.
