Most photographers instinctively leave the diffuser inside their Rogue snoot to get a perfectly round beam of light. But what happens if you break the rules? If you are using a rectangular hybrid strobe (like the Geekoto GT200), taking that panel out projects the actual rectangular shape of your flash directly onto your model! This creates incredibly harsh, stylized geometric patterns that look absolutely stunning when angled from a boom stand.
We take you straight into the studio to show you the exact setup, how the Fresnel lens multiplies your light output, and how to manipulate hard light for ultimate high-key drama.
