In an interview with The Dallas Morning News’ Editorial Board, Democrat James Talarico said his experience as a public school teacher led him to run for his seat in the Texas House of Representatives. Now, in his campaign for U.S. Senate, Talarico is pushing to raise teacher pay and reject private school vouchers to support public education.
Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton did not respond to a similar invitation to meet with The News.
