In view of the increasing number of maternal deaths and cases of serious health complications among pregnant women, the Rajasthan Government has intensified its focus on monitoring high-risk pregnancies. Chief Secretary V. Srinivas is personally reviewing the situation on a daily basis to strengthen maternal healthcare across the state.
During a high-level review meeting held at the Health Bhawan, the Chief Secretary directed officials to prepare a name-wise list of every high-risk pregnant woman and ensure continuous monitoring at the field level. ANMs, Community Health Officers (CHOs), and other healthcare personnel have been instructed to take responsibility for regular health check-ups and timely medical intervention.
The review also focused on strict implementation of Operation Theatre (OT) protocols, emergency obstetric care, referral mechanisms, and strengthening healthcare services in districts reporting a higher number of high-risk pregnancies, including Churu, Sikar, Nagaur, Jalore, and Banswara.
The government aims to improve maternal healthcare outcomes through better surveillance, accountability, and timely treatment of high-risk pregnancies.
