Description
Full autumn clearing of tomato, cucumber, aubergine and basil plants from the polytunnel, which have given so much wonderful produce through summer and early autumn.
They all go to a rapidly expanding compost heap, and then I'm running water through a spray line onto the tomato end in particular, where the soil is very dry after not being watered for six weeks, which encouraged ripening of the tomatoes.
Next week we plant plugs of lettuce, endive, mustards, salad rocket, chervil and more, for cropping through winter.
