A 20 year old student from Rhodes, who was living in London at the time, submitted his first solo single to the label in 2015. “Love Dose” by the now very well known DJ and producer Argy. You could already tell the direction his sound was heading and what kind of career awaited him. Valeria’s Spanish vocals add another dimension to the track, circling around a catchy theme and wrapping it all up.
Fifteen years on, Tim Engelhardt returned to it for our 20 Years of Poker Flat remix series. A regular in the family and a producer with a real feel for detail. He pulled the low end forward and tightened the groove, letting the acidic, balearic streak of the original shine in a new light. Put the two side by side and they still sound like sunrise in Ibiza. Another great pick for our Classic of the Week selection.
