Before beginning planning, I always review the previous year's setup to refresh my recollection of how things were set up. I also like to note what was added that year, and how it could be improved. Despite the lousy circumstances surrounding last year, I was able to add quite a few new items and pull off a fantastic display.
I was very pleased with last year's display and got a lot of enjoyment out of it. A lot of things will be similar to last year, but I want to add some more lights outside and make significant improvements to the way the hallway it set up. Better wiring is in order and I have a lot more silhouettes to put out.
The most notable improvement for this year's display will be the electrical. I will be setting up some diodes to reduce the frequency to 30 Hz, reducing the power consumption of the display in half. This is of critical importance this year for financial reasons. An added benefit to this configuration will be extending the life of the incandescent bulbs.
