Very fast as his junior career would suggest, but when he got to F1, the car was bad and everything else that came with it.
Shame really, because he is a nice bloke. Raced against him in the lockdown races and I might still have his phone number. That Whatsapp group was something else...
But yeah- Vandoorne is a driver who probably should have done some good stuff and had an okay career, but was a victim to everything that was going on around McLaren around that time. As such, he's wheeling Peugeots in the WEC and has a Formula E championship to his name.
