Jordan did so well in 1999, so high hopes were abound for the 2000 season and beyond as Eddie Jordan finally cracked the top three in Formula One.

But the following year's car, despite early promise, did not do so well. It was breaking down, the two drivers had their fair share of errors, and the dark horse team for 1999, that should have been the same for 2000, lost out to BAR, Williams AND Benetton. And Benetton were sinking as well.

So where did it all go wrong? And is this the point where Jordan's days were numbered? Simply because the manufacturers had so much power now, being a privateer like Jordan was going to only get harder and harder without a factory deal? Were there now too many manufacturers involved in their own right or with other teams to get something good?
