Every year I look forward to getting fresh apples from Apple Hill in California. I love Mutsu apples, and know that I can buy quality apples from Apple Hill.
I bought 20 lbs and decided that this year I would can the slices in light syrup, mostly to keep my options open.
Here are the canning times for both water bath and steam canning. Times are for pints or quarts.
0 - 1,000 feet. 20 minutes
1,000 - 3,000. 25 minutes
3,000 - 6,000. 30 minutes
Over 6,000 feet. 35 minutes
