Description
A patient told me that crowded sidewalks and stores brought on dizziness, nausea, sweating, and a powerful sense that he needed to leave. The clue was when it happened: busy visual environments.
In this video, I walk through the assessments that helped us understand his response: walking while doing a second task, an eye-alignment check, and moving visual patterns. I also explain why the eyes, inner ear, and movement can be worth considering together, and why the starting dose of an exercise matters.
Anxiety is a broad term, and this one case does not explain anyone else's symptoms. If crowded places bring on symptoms for you, describe exactly what happens and when to a qualified clinician. Please do not change prescribed medication or treatment based on a video.
