People in Motion is a haunting animated short by Christoph Lauenstein, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind Balance.
Through surreal puppet animation, the film explores human nature, how ego, greed, and isolation can ruin the fragile balance of a society.
In a land without light, the sudden appearance of a strange, illuminated object causes a stir among the inhabitants. The puppet animation tells a peculiar parable about the shortcomings of human behaviour, coming to the conclusion, that in a world full of egoism and greed there will be no winner.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Christoph Lauenstein was born on March 20, 1962 in Hildesheim, Germany. He is a director and writer, known for Luis & the Aliens (2018), Balance (1989, Academy Awards Winner Short Film) and People in Motion (2021).
