After filming trains 528 and 527 on the Niles in Fremont, I rushed over to the Coast Sub to catch the Coast Starlight here in Newark. I was originally going to get the Filbert St crossing which is the crossing you see at the end but since there was so.many traffic lights that kept turning red on this way so I just decided to continue to this crossing as the turn light was red and was getting close to missing this train. The train ended up stopping at the end due to a maintainer working on a switch at the wye so I would catch up and film them one more time at Mowry.
This crossing features few different signal installs with the closest cantilever still being new to the crossing as it was installed in 2023 or 2024 after the original Harmon Cantilever was knocked down. It's gated mast remained upright and it's back side lights were temporarily changed to front side lights as the temporary signal install later being replaced with new lights which are the current ones when the cantilever was replaced. The left signals gated mast still has its original WCH Clear LED lights original to that gated mast I should say likely installed in the very early 2000s same with this sides gated mast both likely replacing Griswold EM Signals or stub masts WABCO, Safetran, or Harmon signals. The far cantilever would of had its lights replaced at or nearly the same time after the gated mast was installed on that side in the early 2000s. The cantilever over there is a SP 70s era signal itself that would have originally had Harmon 12x20 inch Incandescent lights.

This crossing owned by the Union Pacific Railroad is an mixed signal install with the close cantilever being an UP early 2020s signal install that replaced a knocked down Harmon Cantilever from the 70s SP era a few years ago so quite still new to the crossing and it's gated mast and the far gated masts both being UP early 2000s signal installs with changes to a set of lights on the closer one, and gates and gate lights on both masts. The far cantilever is an SP 1970s era signal install with changes overtime to its lights and light heads.
