Description
Today, Rich shows us another creative trick: Using Melodyne's outstanding stretching capabilities, he freezes sections of the snare drum to create a noise carpet, which is then triggered by the drum kit. This allows the original snare to be blended with as much sustain as desired, not by adding external samples but by generating the sound naturally from the original recording.
The video explains the process in detail, covering all steps in Melodyne, the DAW, and additional plug-ins. By the way, this technique is not just for the snare, but for other parts of the drum kit as well, as Rich demonstrates throughout the video. The result is a high-quality, airy and transparent drum sound.
Best of all, all the functions used in today's video are included in Melodyne assistant and above.
