A few weeks ago I visited the Isle of Wight again, this time with my family for a whole week. Naturally we went back to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway as I had last done so in July 2023, it was just as beautiful and picturesque as I last remember it! The locomotive operating on this day was 41313 of the LMS Ivatt Class 2, first entered service in May 1952 and worked in service until its withdrawal in November 1965. 41313 was moved to the Woodham Brothers scrapyard where it was eventually saved, however remained inactive for many years until finally returning to service in 2017, before then moving to the Isle of Wight railway shortly after.
