My first trip back to the Mid Hants Railway since 2022 and a trip well worth it. Was one of several passengers to ride aboard the first public service hauled by the lines flagship locomotive, 35005 Canadian Pacific of the SR Merchant Navy Class, which has just returned from an overhaul that has lasted about 14 years, after the locomotive last operated back in 2008. For my favourite class of Express Steam Locomotives, this was a day well worth being part of seeing another Merchant Navy locomotive run on the rails, not the least which Can Pac being the oldest surviving member of the class being first build in December 1941. Also a bonus clip at the end featuring Battle of Britain Class locomotive 34072 257 Squadron, which has been on loan to the railway for some time from the Swanage Railway, where I believe it's set to return to soon.
