I really love curved shapes. That's one of the main reasons why I find my tortoises really beautiful and why I've always loved fountains. I hate "modern architecture" (mainstream during the early 1940s-early 1980s) because all they are are just featureless boxes, sometimes with weird polygons, with no taste. I bet architects and builders did that mainly because it's the cheapest and has the lowest design effort, so planned obsolescence would be easy. Same with early 1960s-early 1990s cars. They are so ugly and boring-looking. I really loves domes, rotundas, arches, and vaults in buildings, which is a major reason why I find Art Noveau/Art Deco architecture like the Chrysler Building so enjoyable! Too bad they make unreliable cars, albeit beautiful!
Also, curved shapes are structurally more efficient, so the arched windows make a stronger structure. The arched living room windows are a great feature!
Anyway, I really love my round rosewood table, Chinese pagodas (octagonal, but close to being round), and even high-end Chinese dim sum restaurant dining tables because the rounded shape is so beautiful. Honestly, I find all humans and land mammals "ugly" (versus birds, turtles/tortoises, sea lions, and aquatic animals) because their shape is not coherent, unrefined, and not round.
I find bulldogs just hideous to look at with their "imploded" faces. I have absolutely no idea why anyone would want to have them as a pet and pay so much for them.
Anyway, the rounded, streamlined shape is also why I find the Toyota Prius, Toyota Prius Prime, Honda Insight, Honda Clarity, Teslas (excluding ugly Cybertruck), Chrysler LHS/Concorde/300M, Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler Neon, Chrysler 200, Dodge Stratus, 1996-1999 and 2000-2006 Ford Taurus, and bullet trains really beautiful. On the other hand, I find the super-expensive Rolls Royce and Mercedes G-Wagon one of the ugliest cars in modern times and just hideous to look at, just like semi trailers and cargo containers.
While I have all the condolences to the lost ones in the Twin Towers in New York and Champlain Towers in Miami, I'm glad those cheap-looking, featureless, boxy, "modern-style" eyesores are gone.
It's so unfortunate that most buildings in the world, including most of American suburbia, are "modern" style because they were built in post-war times.
