Sacramento Regional Transit light rail trains on the SACRT Gold Line pass through the 39th Street railroad crossing street running R Street arriving and departing the 29th Street Station in Sacramento, California.

If you missed my June post, the 1 year delay in the 29th/30th & R Street traffic signalization intersection and pedestrian improvement project for these two crossings on each end of the 29th Street Station has cleared and the project now has moved into the bidding phase for construction. The project was delayed due to underground utilities that made the design phase difficult and railroad instruments that are needed to make this project start properly and also likely delays from supply reasons. For projects, there are normally multiple bidding due dates as we are on the 2nd which is July 23rd as the first due date was July 9th to make sure they got all the contractors that will be working on this project and hauling in and out. Since construction is next after the bidding phase. I would predict construction to start hopefully by the start of next year at least or spring 2027 like April as those are usually the time frame construction projects start that enter construction phase in the previous year. Keep in mind that I wouldn't be surprised if they hold construction until SACRT starts phase 2 construction on the 29th Street Station to add 3 car supporting low floor platforms to extend the current 2 car support. The traffic signalization project is the city's project that SACRT is involved in due to railroad stuff. The sad part of this project is that when it starts, the current signals at this crossing will be replaced with new ones and SACRT only ASC E-Bell crossing will be Stockton Blvd/34th St crossing but luckily there is 3 there. I wish the project included moving the bus stop past the crossing ahead.
