Pakistan have been WHITEWASHED 3–0 by England. 🇵🇰😡
A disastrous Test tour has ended with England winning the third and final Test at Edgbaston by 8 wickets, completing a clean sweep over Pakistan.
England needed just 130 runs to win on the final morning. Mohammad Abbas gave Pakistan a dream start by dismissing Ben Duckett and Emilio Gay in the very first over, but Pakistan couldn't capitalize.
Joe Root scored an unbeaten 62 and Jordan Cox finished 59 not out, taking England to 130/2 and sealing the series 3–0.
The defeat is even more painful considering Pakistan finally showed some fight in the second innings.
After being bowled out for just 133 and watching England pile up 453, Pakistan were staring at an innings defeat. But Shan Masood scored 95, Babar Azam made 76, Azan Awais contributed 59 and debutant Razaullah smashed an incredible 81, including nine sixes, as Pakistan fought back to make 449.
But ultimately it wasn't enough.
England won:
🏴 1st Test — by an innings and 103 runs
🏴 2nd Test — by 194 runs
🏴 3rd Test — by 8 wickets
And the series ended ENGLAND 3–0 PAKISTAN.
Pakistan also went through enormous upheaval during the tour — squad changes, players being sent home and changes to the coaching setup — yet none of it prevented the whitewash.
One of England's biggest performers throughout the series was Ollie Robinson, who finished with 21 wickets.
