The 2016 era (late 2015 to early 2017) was a golden age of fashion where many started to develop an interest in streetwear trends. 10 years on, we're increasingly nostalgic for this time before TikTok, microtrends, and ultra-fast fashion. Although hypebeast was the aesthetic most associated with this time, other looks like normcore and techwear allowed different expressions of style to emerge.
Key brands of the era include Supreme, Bape, Common Projects, Acronym, and more.

Today, cultural fragmentation, trends-as-costumes, and the loss of community discussion spaces has changed the fashion landscape. Maybe we're not ready for the clothing itself to make a return, but these communities and connections are something many have fond memories of. Is it time to get some of these back?
