Sometimes you can find some really amazing things when you are out working in the garden. This time I found some evidence of a symbiotic relationship between the King Stropheria mushroom and the trailing blackberry volunteer growing in my wood chip pile. The root system of the trailing blackberry seems to be lined with a mycelial layer as they work together to grow in the wood chips. I have been observing this behavior over the years as I have worked wood chips into the garden soil. I don't know much about what is exactly going on but it is fun to see and I really wanted to show you all what is going on. Feel free to share what you all know about this. I would love to learn more.
