I suspect there's some kind of "official" reason for it like when they neutered their search engine so you couldn't search by new for about a month. I suspect YouTube will come up with some kind of BS "official" reason within the next few days and won't give it back until enough people are pissed off that they start cancelling premium en masse. It hurts us as creators because it makes it harder to find certain comments only available under "newest first" and they could end up getting overlooked because they so happened to use a wrong combination of words or wanted to share a link. I've wanted to make a new video for months and it sucks that most of the videos I've made lately have been bitching about YouTube. I promise to make REAL videos soon.
