Experiment #514: "Fireworks" Light Bulb
(2 of 2 "After The Show" Anniversary Specials)

This is it! This is the last one! The show officially ended in December of 2020 after I'd posted the hourglass video, the series finale. Well, this is the channel finale! We all knew this day would come eventually. Remember, when you are watching this, you're watching the last Microwave Me video ever made. This, being the final video ever, I wanted to make something special, despite there being a very limited budget due to getting almost no views nowadays. This is a special light bulb, not too costly, but still cool. I bought two of them just in case something went wrong. It did! As you can see, I cleaned out Zoey right before doing this. I was actually amazed at how perfect I was able to clean her. Well, I forgot to press record. So, I had to do it all over again with a dingy microwave. It doesn't matter because everything you needed to see is perfectly visible. I'm going to, for the final time, answer a few of your questions like I used to do in my clip shows.

Q: Why did you end your microwave show? You still have an audience.
A: I do appreciate you guys who stick around. That's why I made these two bonus videos instead of just ending it with the channel eulogy. But we have to look at the logistics of running a microwave show. It's expensive. It's not like most videos where the only expenses are the recording equipment. Also, I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. I'm expected to have production values befitting a channel with 14K subscribers while getting views befitting a channel with 14 subscribers. So I lose money every episode.

Q: Is there any way I can convince you to come back?
A: Sorry, but no. For years I said if you guys didn't start watching again, I'd have to end the show due to the show becoming a money drain. Nobody listened, and then when I actually end the show, people who hadn't watched in years were suddenly begging me to reconsider.

Q: Will you microwave (suggested item)?
A: No. In the past I would have considered it, but my show's done.

Q: Can I start my own microwave show?
A: Sure but please take proper precuations. I don't want anyone getting hurt. I'm okay with you copying me, you can copy me and calling yourself General Microwave or Admiral Microwave or something like that, you can even call your show" Microwave You" or "Microwaved By Me" and copy my terminology and catchphrases if you want. I draw the line at reuploading my videos and claiming you made them. And please don't use my icon as your icon. There's copying and then there's stealing. Don't do the latter.

Q: Are you going to keep your videos up at least?
A: Yes! Of course! I know some when they quit YouTube wipe their channel clean. I don't do that. Everything stays up. I will even sign on once now and then to answer comments and post a community tab post.

Q: How did you decide what to microwave?
A: I researched the item to see if it'd be cool, or if an item was requested a lot I do it, even if I don't think it'll be at all interesting.

Q: Why did you stop posting non-microwave content?
A: My non-microwave videos almost always got lov views, a lot of dislikes, a lot of unsubbers, and a lot of "just stick to microwaving" comments. I got tired of this and began posting my non-microwave stuff elsewhere.

Q: Can you list every microwave you ever used on the sow?
A: Sure! It's in the credits! I call Renee a "Gold Wave" but should be "Gold Star". Also, notice not every microwave is named, but many of them are.

Q: Is there even a teeny tiny chance you'll come back for your 20th year anniversary? Maybe 25th? 50th? 100th?
A: 20th, no. 25th and 50th, probably not. 100th, I'll be dead.

Q: Are you going to hand the reins over to a new Captain Microwave, who can continue running your channel, picking up where you left off?
A: No, absolutely not! Anyone claiming to be me, the new me, or my backup account is a phony, a fraud, and a liar.

With that said, thank you all so much for sticking around for however long you did. Whether you began watching in 2012 when I started, during my golden age of 2013-2014 when most of my best experiments were filmed, during my peak in 2015-2016 when my channel was at its most popular, during my "stagnation" period in 2017-2018 when things began to go sour but I was still fairly popular, during my channel's later years in 2019-2020, when views began to dry up and I ended the show, or in 2021-2022, after the show ended, I'm incredibly thankful to have you along for the journey. Words can't express how much I appreciate each and every one of you. If I could do it all over again, I would, but YouTube's a much different place now. Thank you, goodnight, and goodbye.
