Description
Bad audio costs you viewers before they ever get a chance to judge the content.
If your mic is clipping, sitting too quiet, or getting buried under your game audio, people won’t stick around long enough to care how good the stream actually is. This covers the basics that actually matter: keeping voice peaks around -12 to -6 dB for headroom, making sure your voice sits above your game or music in the mix, and setting up separate stream and monitor mixes so what you hear and what your audience hears aren’t the same messy signal. This applies to OBS and any streaming setup on Twitch or YouTube Live. It’s for streamers who’ve cleaned up their visuals but never actually checked their audio levels. Why does my stream audio sound bad even though my mic is decent? Usually levels and mix balance, not the mic itself, and separate routing fixes it without touching your hardware.
This channel is for people making things nobody is watching yet. We cover the unglamorous side of streaming and content creation, the OBS settings that quietly ruin your audio, the reason a stream stutters when your internet is fine, the webcam and lighting choices that make a channel look amateur, and the parts nobody warns you about before your first broadcast. Most of what we post falls into three kinds of video: the mistake we made and what it cost us, one specific problem fixed in under a minute, and the honest reality of going live to an empty chat. If your stream still sounds rough no matter what you’ve tried, you’re upgrading a setup that already half works, or you just want your audio to finally sound professional, you’re in the right place. New videos every week.
