We live in modern times. Not two hundred years ago, young lads would be sent up chimneys or down mines before they could so much as crawl on all fours and gurgle vaguely recognisable words. Flash forward to my childhood in the 1990s; a time when boys and girls alike were spared the workhouse and the mill, and instead were able to spend at least some of their childhood losing their video game virginity. However, the scenario was far from perfect. There was still one major divide. Some lucky kids were blessed with copies of all the bestsellers from day one. Me and so many others, however, had to sit down, shut up and play the hell out of the bargain bin rejects...
