Why Your Next Win Should Be Miserable

The Buon Life | Men's Lifestyle Podcast 1 months ago

Description

Chris Williamson said something in an interview with Tony Robbins that stuck with me: sometimes you end up with miserable successes. Tony's answer was that there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't keep doing it.

That reframed how I'm thinking about what's next.

I lost 40 pounds and it wasn't miserable, because my lifestyle had the room for it. No relationship pulling at me, nobody breathing down my neck, space I made on purpose. Now that it's done, maintaining it feels like practice instead of a construction site. The hard part is over.

So the question becomes: what's next, and what's it going to cost?

For me that's money. I've hit 30k a month before and held it for almost a year. I want that again, and this time I know it's going to suck, because I'm not willing to do some of the things it requires. Fewer hours of sleep. Less input. Boring chapters with nothing entertaining in them.

That's the actual lesson from the weight loss, and it's the one nobody says out loud. Ask yourself what you're not willing to sacrifice - then start sacrificing exactly those things. Those are the ones stopping everything.

I also get into where this channel and the branding channel are going. Less marketing talk, more of the real conversation about what actually builds a brand. It won't be polished at first. I wasn't strong the first time I went to the gym either.

Health is handled. Wealth is next.
