We Walk Together | A Zulu Song for the Elephant Herd 🎵

Tekweni Video 1 months ago

Description

We walk together. This is an original Zulu and English song for an African elephant herd, following a matriarch and her family across the savannah along the ancient paths they have walked for generations.

"Siyahamba Ndawonye" means "We walk together" in isiZulu. The song is about the matriarch's memory of water, and the corridors her family has followed for centuries. There is no narration. Just the herd, the dust, the golden light and the music.

The song is sung in isiZulu with English lines.

(This is an original song, not the traditional hymn "Siyahamba".)

This song is one of eleven in our full 29-minute film, Echoes of the Savannah: https://youtu.be/saK1YAVF-xc
