Baby Animals Take Their First Steps on the African Plains | Songs of the Wild

Tekweni Guide 10 days ago

Description

Baby animals take their first steps on the African plains in this original song from Tekweni's Songs of the Wild series. Lion cubs splash through shallow water, cheetah cubs tumble in the grass, a newborn hartebeest stays close to its mother and an elephant calf walks into a world that is waiting for it.

"The Plains Begin Again" is a story of new life, curiosity and protection. The young are playful and adventurous, but never far from the mothers and families who watch over them. Sung in English and isiZulu, one of South Africa's most widely spoken languages.

🎵 What you'll see:
Lion, cheetah and leopard cubs with their mothers, springbok and warthog youngsters on the run, a baby elephant, a mother baboon carrying her infant, and a pride of lions walking together across the savannah.

LYRICS
Morning opens on the plain.
A small heart rises with the sun.
Impilo entsha. Begin again.

Stay close, little one.
The grass is high.
I walk beside you
beneath this endless sky.

First light. First steps. A waiting world.
Impilo entsha.

Run, little feet, into the morning!
Rise, little hearts, the day has come!
Sisonke!

So much earth beneath your feet.
So much sky above.
Every path is waiting.
Every life begins with love.

Stay near, little one.
You do not walk alone.
Not alone. Sisonke.

The seasons turn again,
with every breath and every step.
The plains begin again,
new life beneath the sun.
Run, little feet, into the morning.
Rise, little hearts, the day has come.
Under watchful eyes that guard and guide you,
the life of the plains goes on.
Impilo iyaqhubeka. Sisonke!

Follow where the warm wind goes.
Roam beneath the open sky.
Walk where those before you walked.
The plains begin again.
And the seasons sing.
