Description
This video shows real Metropolitan Police body-worn video footage of a dramatic pursuit through London that led to the arrest of a reckless driver.
Earlier this year, whilst on a routine patrol in West London, officers spotted a transit van that they believed to using a cloned number plate. Officers were quickly able to determine that the vehicle was in fact on cloned plates and proceeded to pursue it.
In an effort to contain the dangerous driver, officers attempted to box the vehicle in at a dead end. The driver, unwilling to comply then proceeds to ram into the police car before recklessly driving over a pavement to evade police.
The pursuit continues briefly, before the suspect decamps in a final attempt to get away from police.
A police helicopter as well as the Police Dog Unit were deployed to locate the fleeing suspect who was quickly found hiding in a nearby garden bush.
On Scene brings viewers closer to real-world policing through the bodycams of Metropolitan Police officers in London. Experience real incidents as officers arrive, assess, and respond.
