If you're washing machine has stopped during the spin/drain cycle, or makes a growling noise, it could be a coupler and/or a stripped motor shaft. Since the price of another motor exceeds a washing machine, I can't justify replacing it. This is just a quick temporary repair to hold you off until you can get another one. Since the motor was already bad it doesn't hurt to try a temporary fix. This repair might last a few weeks or a few months. Either way, it's long enough to get you by until you can get another washer. This 5am repair before work only took about an hour to complete. I hope this video can help someone dealing with this same common issue on Whirlpool & Kenmore washers.
