Description
Feeding, bathing and walking with rescued asian elephants at Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
After leaving the south of Thailand and a short stop in Bangkok, me and Louis headed north to Chiang Mai where we had planned to visit an Elephant rehabilitation sanctuary. Although we were eager to get up close and personal with some gentle giants, we wanted to make sure it was under the wing of a trustworthy company that weren't mistreating the elephants to make money.
Our research lead us to the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai and after hearing about the story of the founder Lek, we decided that this was definitely the sanctuary that we wanted to give our money to and help support the further conservation of the 70+ elephants they look after.
For a fair price of 2500 baht we got to have the unforgettable experience of spending a full day with three fully grown elephants. Bathing them, feeding them and walking around the large park with them. It really was an incredible experience and one that I would highly recommend to anyone who is planning to visit Chiang Mai.
