Thailand's most epic viewpoint (Dragon Crest Mountain) and Thailand's most beautiful beach (Railay Beach), both located in Ao Nang, Krabi.
After experiencing island life in the south of Thailand for a good amount of time it was time to head back to the mainland for a trip relaxed town of Ao Nang, Krabi.
We had been told about this hike called Khao Ngon Nak by our hostel owner back in Koh Lanta, which ends with an incredible viewpoint named Dragon Crest Mountain that looks over the whole of south Thailand. It really is the best viewpoint in Thailand and still is one of the most spectacular I've seen in the whole of south east Asia, its like stepping straight into the film Avatar. The two hour 4km hike to get to the top is definitely not an easy one and it gets extremely sweaty but it is beyond worth it, if you have a chance to check out Dragon Crest Mountain then definitely do it!
Not only is Krabi home to the best viewpoint in Thailand but it's also home to the best beach in Thailand, Railay Beach. Located just a short boat trip away from Ao Nang Beach, Railay Beach is a picturesque paradise surrounded by limestone cliffs and dotted with fishing boats on the shore.. it really gives you those Jurassic Park vibes. The only downside to this beach is obviously due to its popularity it can get very busy, however considering it is only a short and cheap journey to get there I would definitely recommend checking it out.
