Description

Today we remember, US Army, SSG Steve Alexander Ramirez May 17, 1994 – July 27, 2026

Steve Alexander Ramirez, 32, was born on May 17, 1994, in Paramount, California, to Alicia and Gabriel Ramirez. He was the oldest of three children, followed by his younger siblings, Ricardo and Alicia Elizabeth. Steve passed away on July 27, 2026, leaving behind a family and community who will deeply mourn his loss.

Steve was a deeply loved husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose presence had a way of making the people around him feel safe, protected, and cared for. He spent the first six years of his life in the Los Angeles area before moving with his family to Idaho.

From an early age, Steve developed a love for working with his hands and figuring out how things worked. He could often be found in the garage turning wrenches or elbows-deep in someone's engine. Whether something truly needed fixing or he simply wanted something to work on, he genuinely enjoyed understanding how things worked and putting his skills to use. What began as a personal interest became a skill that stayed with him throughout his life and into his military service.

Steve proudly served his country in the United States Army, where his dedication and hard work led him to the rank of Staff Sergeant. His years of service reflected the hardworking, dependable, resilient, and determined person those closest to him knew him to be. He was someone willing to work hard and look out for the people around him.

Steve met his wife, Vivienne, in 2015, beginning a story that would grow with them through the years. Together, they became parents to their two daughters, Nirvana, who was four years old at the time of his passing, and Flora, who was two. Above everything else, being a father was one of the most meaningful roles of Steve's life. His girls were a tremendous part of his world, and the love he had for them will continue to live through them as they grow.

Anyone who knew Steve will remember his sense of humor, his goofy spirit, and especially his hugs. Steve was known for giving the kind of strong bear hugs that stood out—the kind that made you feel completely wrapped up. His hugs were strong, intentional, and unforgettable, much like Steve himself.

Steve had a way of treating friends like brothers and making those around him feel like family. Beneath his tough exterior was someone who loved deeply and whose presence left a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know him.

He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hunting, working on cars, and simply keeping his hands busy. Whether he was spending time with family, working on a vehicle, helping someone, or making people laugh, Steve brought a presence that was uniquely his own.

Steve is survived by his wife, Vivienne; his daughters, Nirvana and Flora; his parents, Alicia and Gabriel; his siblings, Ricardo and Alicia Elizabeth; and many relatives, friends, fellow soldiers, and loved ones who will carry his memory with them.

Steve's life cannot be measured only by the years he was given, but by the love he gave, the memories he created, the people he protected, and the family he leaves behind. His absence will be deeply felt, but the pieces of himself that he gave to those who loved him will remain. His stories will continue to be told, his memory will continue to be carried, and his daughters will grow up knowing just how deeply their father was loved.

Please continue to pray for family as they continue to grieve deeply!
