Description
Białośliwie (Poland) is an interchange station between the standard gauge state railway and the Wyrzyska Kolejka Powiatowa (Bydgoszcz-Wyrzysk Commuter Railways) 600 mm narrow-gauge railway. The locomotive and carriage sheds at Białośliwie are home to an enthusiast group running occasional trains on a restored section of the once extensive system. The railway was left in legal limbo after closure, although the local enthusiast society “Towarzystwo Wyrzyska Kolejka Powiatowa (TWKP)” was permitted to maintain the infrastructure and since 2009 with support from Pila District Council has worked to establish a museum and run tourist trains.
This holiday was based in Poznań with various trips starting and finishing at Poznań Main Station. Part of our trip from Poznań to Białośliwie is shown towards the end of this video.
