Description
Tokyo has countless sushi restaurants, but every once in a while, you find one that feels quietly special. Sushi Yuji in Ebisu is one of those places.
This hidden omakase spot combines fresh seasonal seafood, a refined counter setting, and the creativity of a chef who has worked around the world. What we experienced was more than dinner. It felt like a sushi journey.
Located in a quiet basement just a few minutes from Ebisu Station, Sushi Yuji offers an omakase course by a chef who has trained and worked in sushi restaurants around the world, including Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Dubai. The course features seasonal seafood from Toyosu and Tsukiji markets, with both small dishes and nigiri prepared with careful technique.
What surprised us most was the balance: the atmosphere feels refined, the sushi is creative and thoughtful, and yet the omakase course is still relatively approachable compared with many high-end sushi experiences in Tokyo.
This was not just a simple sushi dinner. Each bite had a little twist, and the whole meal felt like a journey.
