In this video, I react to footage of Zohran Mamdani visiting a Jewish store in Borough Park ahead of Rosh Hashanah, where a Jewish woman confronts him over Israel, antisemitism, and his public focus on Israel-related issues.
She identifies herself as the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors and explains why Mamdani’s presence in the neighborhood is deeply upsetting to her. The confrontation becomes increasingly tense as she asks others in the store whether they support Israel and questions why Mamdani was welcomed into the establishment.
I break down the interaction, Mamdani’s reaction during the confrontation, and the response of other people inside the store.
